As far as I know you can get Throbbing Gristle's Greatest Hits on CD.
I'm virtually positive I've seen it before at State Discount, of all
places.

Of course, I've seen it on CD. Haven't moved to that yet. Want vinyl or tape!

Ahh.. I may have even seen the CD at the Ann Arbor Public Library,
of all places. If they have it, you could check it out and have some
CD-player-owning-friend record it onto tape for you.

_Let Them Eat Jellybeans_....I know craig has a copy, but I'd like it
on CD, if at all possible. And Dog's Blood Rising's first album; I
don't know the name.

Like I said, I'm not sure. But I think I remember that. If it's not
true, it's an odd thing for me to imagine.

A company called REsearch that has recently been reproducing banned 1960s-
70s material, including J.G. Ballard's nightmarish "The Atrocity Exhibition"
has picked up the whole line of "Search and Destroy", a underground punk
magazine in the early 70s, and is currently selling them at a reasonable
markup. Throbbing Gristle features prominently.

Some folk group did a version of the old song/tale "Tam Lin",
with female vocals. Didn't sound like Maddy Prior, or Fairport
Convention. I heard this on a friend's tape of a collection of
folk music. Does anyone have any idea who it might be?

Frankie Armstrong and Blowzabella put together an entire LP of differing
versions of "Tam Lin" several years back, as I recall. This is, of course,
long out of print; it was on Plant Life records in England.
I have a vague memory that I have another recorded version floating in
my collection, but I cannot pin it down right now. Sigh.

(Slightly off-topic, REsearch also puts out a number of books on
unusual topics, e.g. body piercing and flesh manipulation.)

Went into Schoolkids this morning, to find something by
Malicorne. No one there had heard of them, and the catalogs
had nothing. Does anyone here remember/know of them, and where
I could find some of their stuff to listen to?

Anyone ever heard of "Billy Barber"? Yanni-esque music played a few times
on WVAE when that was still around ... .

Tom in #12 -- huh? LEGENDE, the recent Malicorne compilation from Hannibal,
is a stock item at Schoolkids!!! It's filed under "France" in the world
music bins. It's the only easy-to-obtain item in the US, so you might
as well pick it up.
Down Home has the first four Malicorne CDs, but they cost about $22 each.
This is mail order. They're probably worth it.
Hmmm, maybe we need a folk music item. I have all the Malicorne LPs because
I've been a fan for about eight years, so fire away with your questions...
(hmmm, lemme go set up the appropriate item.)

Hmmph. I asked _TWO_ of the help at Schoolkids, including their
CD guy, about Malicorne. Neither had heard of them, and couldn't
find them in the catalogs. They lose.

Unfortunately, no one *but* Schoolkids has copies of LEGENDE yet.
I imagine there will be copies at the Yacoub concert.

Well, I went back. Someone tried to help, but I ended up having
to find the tape myself. (To give them credit, they did manage to
find the CD.) As you said, it was filed under International/European.
The CD was under /French. At least they have (had :-) ) it.

Does anyone know where I can find
Stan Ridgeway's "The Big Heat?" I know it's out
of print. The places I've tried
have had almost everything else he did, but no
"The Big Heat."
Also, does anyone know why I haven't been able
to find Styx's "Pieces of Eight"
album?
