I saw her in Detroit on July 4th, it was truly intense...
I've been listening to her since about the end of 1992,
after hearing her constantly recommended on the newsgroup
rec.music.gaffa.

TORI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes i let her sing me to sleep.
I never let ANY other music do that.

Tori has got to be the most sensual singer in the world.

Not to mention a virtuosos(sp?) pianist.

I saw her October 15 and 16 at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor and at Wharton in
East Lansing. The woman is a riot! When she was describing what she wanted to
do to the kid who gave her nephew a swirlie at school, I thought I was going to
lose control of my bladdder right there in the upper balcony. Heh heh. SHe
truly knows how to express herself. :) Does anyone have a copy of "Y Kant
Tori Read"? I would like to hear it and would gladly send the willing person a
blank tape and twenty dollars to copy it for me. :)

The only thing that bothers me about Tori Amos is that she seems
kind of derivative of kate Bush to my ears.

Her introduction to the song "Icicle" was awesome. Anyone who knows what
that song is about could guess how that intro went.
-Icicle, icicle, where are you going?
                 I've got a hiding place...
<fraizer repeats... wow...>

Thing Fish...If I remember correctly, she did awesome introductions for
"Icicle" both nights. I got upset when some screamed "Take to the Sky" just as
she was beginning "Me and a Gun".
I also heard it is her pet-peeve when people are late and walk in while she
is singing. Not because it distracts her, but because it bothers the people
who were trying to see her. :)

Is it a planned thing for people to sceem "Kill that bitch, Tori!"
at the begining of "Waitress"?

No, but it should be. >8)

Actually, I heard that at one stop on the current (almost over)
tour, someone screamed that, and Tori stopped right in the middle
of the song and sai something like:

You say that now, but will you bring me cookies
when I'm in jail and my cellmates are inserting
        a broom-handle into my rectum?

Something like that.

She said about the same thing at the show I saw, that's why I asked.

I wouldn't have thought that bringing cookies was an appropriate
response to someone having a broom-handle inserted into their
rectum. You'd think she'd say to keep the cookies and just
bring the Crisco with you. But I don't pretend to know anything
about this new music.

Yeah, we're so hip... I bet Beethoven never said anything like
that when he played. >8)

Has anyone heard Tori sing "Little Drummer Boy" and if you have, do you know
where I can get a copy of thatsong?

response 16 of 77: Mark Unseen   Dec 18 04:06 UTC 1994

I heard it this morning on CIMX, I believe it's available
as a B-side on one of her earlier singles, but I'm not sure
which one. Hang on...

I just buzzed through two Tori discographies on the Web,
and the only place I could find tLDB was on a promo CD single
called, oddly enough, "The Little Drummer Boy". Expect
to pay enormous amounts for it, if you can find it at all.

I can't find it, but DEFINTELY heard it.
It's wonderful.

I have found it, and.....har har, I am trading magic cards for it. Rare=rare in
this strange wworld in which we live, I guess.... :) I do not know when I will
be able to obtain it, however. :)
Thanks, Rob. That song is perhaps the best Christmas song I have ever
    heard remade. :)

With everyone lusting after Tori, perhaps someone should get a mop?

That's OK. The floor slopes over to the drain in the corner.

We planned ahead.

Well I still say she like a faded photocopy of Kate Bush. Do you
people even know who Kate Bush is?
gerund
response 23 of 77: Mark Unseen   Dec 19 22:12 UTC 1994

Kate Bush is a faded photo. That's who Kate Bush is. ;)

I used to think that, too, raven, but not anymore. I love 'em both.
