I can't be cured by THE CURE! Mark Unseen   May 26 20:16 UTC 1994

I've been keeping these feelings inside for so long, but I can't
hide them any more...

                I HATE THE CURE!!!!!!!

OK- now that that's out in the open, you all probably will respond
with: So? Don't listen to them, then.
Easy enough, I don't listen to them, but I'm curious as to why
people enjoy them. Is it the inner angst? The hair? Robert's warbles?
The gothic scene peer pressure? Why?
And yes, I have heard the cure enough, I've given them a chance,
I tried to find something redeeming about them... but I can't.

(what I like about The Cure are the melodies and the lyrics, although not
always at the same time. My favorite Cure song is "Love Song", although
"Close To Me" comes in, shall I say it?, "close".)

i agree. i hate the cure. they are wimps. but they have done nothing to
personally hurt or offend me, so i do not advocate their assasination or
degredation.

re#6: Yeah, I've met them a couple of times. Robert Smith is (or used to be)
pretty shy, but Simon Gallup (bassist for those who need to know) is hilarious!
Now they all seem uptight.

Ok- I'm not goth, I'm not an expert on gothic music. I thought that
goths listened to the cure, but perhaps not- don't they ever get tired
of Christian Death and Bauhaus?

while watching the cure's vidoes and interviews, they do seem to have a sense
of humor. But, yes. They do seem a little "whimpy" wait.. I thought "the cure"
was grunge. :)

(the worst part of that song is the line "I don't care if Monday's black".
That *really* killed the song for me.)

Did anyone besides myself ever see the Saturday Night Live skit/spoof of
"this Old House" only it was "This old Shack" w/Robert Smith wanting everthing
to be kept all dreary and destructive? Ver hilarious!

(I wish I had. I'm more familiar with the band's music than their behavior
outside of it, but that sounds like a fun watch.)

So why the cure? How does listening to their music make you feel? like yer not
alone in being lonely or some such drivel??? I wan't to know why one would
listen to something that dreary, repetitious, and lame!<-my opinion, of
course.. WHY???
