sorry about hte second topic, but i didn't run a browse......sorry....
it wasn't suicide that killed Nirvana...it was MTV...not the unforunate
death of a man compared to Jhon Lennon

If you can call Kurt and Nirvana musicians.

"Weird" Al did a cover Qof a Nirvana song, so they qualify as musicians
to me!

I would call them musicians, even though I didn't like them a lot, they
were still musicians.

Actually, I'm just ticked about how MTV is handling this. It seems to me
as far as they are concerned its the best thing to happen in a long time.
Well someone is dead and that's nothing to be happy about. Nirvana was
pretty good, but now they'll go down in history as something more than
they probably are. Why should someone die and then people herald them
as a genius? I just think it's all a very sad thing.

I'm at least glad that Kurt Loder is giving the number for
Suicide Prevention every 5 minutes or so. I'm really worried
about the number of teens across the country who will get
depressed about this, and try taking their own lives as well.

Yeah, that *IS* a good thing. This whole thing depresses me a lot, but
I can deal with it. Some people may not be able to along with all the
other problems they may have.

MTV is using his death to make more money, because all they were doing today
was a tribute to nirvana, theyre hoping a lot of people will tune in to it.

It's really big news here in Seattle. I live on the "Ave" near UW,
where everybody dresses grunge and where the band members of Nirvana
are spotted in the local record stores. Yesterday afternoon it seemed
like the President was shot. I went into several stores and kept
overhearing conversations about it from the people behind the counter.
This morning when I got up I went to get breakfast, and on the way
there seemed to be people clustered around every newsbox. Everybody
in the coffeehouse I hang out at had their paper open to a feature
spread, complete with pictures of the body. I think I noticed more
people than usual standing on the Ave staring into spacee looking
lost. There seemed to be a cameraderie among perfect strangers as
they read the headlines-- not having been much of a fan I felt a
little left out.

It's interesting that when someone
famous like this dies, everyone
makes a big deal about it, but
millions of people die every day
that we don't acknowledge.

THe thing that makes me mad about the whole thing is MTV. They make him out
as some huge hero. The guy put a *uckin shot gun to his hed...boy, what
a great role model. Sure was great of the guy to have enough guts to kill
himself, as in the suicide note said"it's jsut not phun anymore, and i kant
live like this"..what a n act of courage. And how selfish could you be...to
leave bhve behind a 1 year old daughter and wife. I like Bleach. And
unfortunatly, the portraying of a suicidal herioin head as a nation hero, )and
worse as lennon) will bring on a rach of suicides. back to you kurt.
