Nominations for the 2008 Grex Board of Directors Mark Unseen   Nov 6 15:00 UTC 2007

Nominations are now open for the Cyberspace Communications, Inc. Board
of Directors. In accordance with Article 4, Section d of the Bylaws,
nominations will close on November 15 and an online election will be
held December 1 through December 15. Terms of office begin on January 1,
2007, and are two years in length. Three seats are up for election this
time around.

Grex membership is a requirement for serving on the Board. Any current
member of Grex who has paid at least 3 months' membership dues and meets
state of Michigan eligibility requirements may run for and serve on the
Board unless they are currently serving and are completing the second
of two consecutive terms. People in the latter group are eligible to
run again in next year's election if they are still members at that
time.

The terms of three board members have one more year to run: Jan Wolter
(janc), Dan Cross (cross), and Colleen McGee. Hence there is no point in
nominating any of them.

The four board members whose terms end on January 31 are
Bruce Howard (bhoward), Lynne Freemont (slynne), Larry Kestenbaum
(polygon), and Mark Conger (aruba).

Bruce Howard, Lynne Freemont, and Larry Kestenbaum are completing the
second of two consecutive terms and are therefore *not* eligible to run
this time, although they can run in future elections. Mark Conger is
eligible to run for re-election.

To appear on the ballot, a person must be nominated in this item by
November 15 and affirmatively accept the nomination in this item before
the start of voting on December 1. Seconds are not required.
Self-nominations are permitted.

response 15 of 55: Mark Unseen   Nov 14 20:52 UTC 2007

Thanks, Glenda.

I'd like to nominate STeve, other, mcnally, marcvh and i. And I
really hope edina (previously nominated) agrees to run.

Too, folks should be reminded that you don't need to be nominated by
someone else in order to run for a seat on the board. Self-nominations
are fine and dandy.

response 16 of 55: Mark Unseen   Nov 14 22:30 UTC 2007

Once again, I respectfully, but firmly, decline.

response 21 of 55: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 20:27 UTC 2007

If a person nominates themselves, wouldnt it follow that they are also
accepting the nomination? If so, then I think mary should be on the list
of people who have accepted.
micklpkl
response 22 of 55: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 22:05 UTC 2007

I really do appreciate the nomination, but I decline.

Lynne has a dry sense of humor but rather than risk finding myself
on the ballot I'll be a little clearer.

In response #15 when I nominated "i" it was Walter Cramer, our
long-serving staff member who plays cfadm without complaint or
applause. Walter's login is i.
slynne
response 24 of 55: Mark Unseen   Nov 17 05:03 UTC 2007

Yeah, mary would NEVER have made a grammar error like using "I" as the
object of a sentence. Sheesh
