Announcement Item - Fall 2015/Winter 2016
|
Dec 31 16:38 UTC 2015 |
This is the general announcements item - the first of several
announcement items. Later items are more specific - announcements
about Grex, Grex system problems, why you're happy, why you're
bummed, etc.
If you have something general to announce to Grexers, this is the
place to put it!

This looks like a good place to post this link:

The title is "Drowning Doesn't Look Like Drowning," so that's my
announcement: drowning doesn't look like drowning.

resp:9 Good announcement! Here are some practical exercises:

See if you can spot the drowning person before the lifeguard. Unless you have
some training or experience, you may not be able to.

Edit your .cfonce or .cfrc of wherever you define your pager; if you're
using less, add -E; if more, add -e. I think. Check the man page; the
option says to exit whenever it hits EOF.

I worked with COBOL on mainframes some 18 years ago. If you can not find
anyone to help, I may be able to take a look.

It's not everyday when you can announce a new BBS.
A friend of mine resurrected his old BBS, The Lost Cavern.
Runs on a Commodore 64, so you can use Petscii and 40/80 columns.
If you want so see petscii with a terminal emulator, I suggest using
"Syncterm". If you want to check it out, here's the information:
