Promoting Grex during our night at Top of the Park
|
Jun 10 05:25 UTC 2000 |
This item is to discuss how we might promote Grex at Top of the Park on
the night when we sponsor the movie.
My one idea: refrigerator magnets.
I steal this idea from an Ann Arbor bank which gave away magnets at TOP
two years ago. We still have that silly magnet stuck on our dishwasher.
Searching on google for "magnets promotional refrigerator" turns up a number
of sites. Looks like we can get 1000 magnets for about $200-$300. It's not
clear that we can save money by getting fewer magnets.
I am *not* the person to take the lead on this: I won't be at the Grex
Movie Night, and I have still failed to make any headway on the Grex
Bumper Sticker project. However, I will pledge $50 to making this happen.
Probably the design of the magnet would just have the Greek Temple logo
with "www.cyberspace.org" underneath it. One color printing would keep it
fast and cheap. I didn't look at full-color prices.

I really like this idea. I think it has a high "neato!" factor for us,
and makes a nice evolution from the card sized flyers.

I think that we should make a nice donation to the top of the park, set up
a tent, with computers connected to grex so that people can check it out!
Make a GUEST type of thing so that if people arn't sure if they are going to
use grex in the future, we don't get unusable space! Thank you thank you
thank ya very much. I thought of it myself!

You can often get drink coasters really cheaply too.
re 3 - a good idea but hard to get a phone line someplace like that.

How about pocket protectors with the slogan: Grex...It's For Everyone, Not Just
Nerds.
I do agree, though, that the refrigerator magnets may stick around longer (pun
intended, of course.)

I like the magnet idea. Fliers tend to get thrown away or lost. Magnets
usually end up on a fridge since they're colorful and useful. =)

I think magnets are a good idea. We should be able to find someone local
to do it, too: American Signs and Sawicki and Sons come immediately to mind.

bumper stickers are more practical than magnets...imagine all the cars
going down the street in a2 with grex bumperstickers that say
"www.cyberspace.org" or just "GREX.org" and how many people would come
here just because they saw the bumper stickers. And I dont imagine
bumper stickers being more expensive than magnets

A lot of people -- me included -- won't put bumper stickers on our cars.

Yeah but there will be a lot of teenagers at TOP (as always).. teens often
put bumper stickers on cars and other things where people see them (covers
of notebooks and stuff comes to mind)
