Link to another response

(Copying this post from its original conference, intro.)
This is a basic Backtalk question to which I kept forgetting the
answer, so I thought I'd post this item for the benefit of my future
forgetful self and all Grex posterity.
Q: When entering a reponse to a conference item, how do you embed a
link to an earlier response? (Such links are most useful when using the
web interface, but even in Fronttalk can be helpful to indicate the
context of your response.)
A: In your reponse text include the following string on a line by
itself: "resp:<reference response number>"
(Do not include the quotation marks; substitute the number of the
response you are referencing in place of <reference response number>)
For example,
resp:47
will add a link to response #47 to your response.

Ooh nice on papa! that's handy. I;m not sure if threaded conversations would
be a better option, it would seem to complicate a conversation, unless it is
a very long one, but being able to link to a previous response is even better
maybe.

I agree mijk. May I ask why the only option is Back/Talk and Front/Talk?

It's not. cross (Grex's last active admin, I think) has been
encouraging members to try new things. gboard is a substitute bulletin
board system that tfurrows (and others?) have been working on.
However, personally I would rather see the *talk system, which are now
(almost?) unique to Grex, put back into fully working order to showcase
the decades of posts stored there.

I spotted cross using a "conf:" tag in a post to link to another
conferen conference.
Are there any other tags like that we can put in bt posts? References to
to responses in other items and items in other conferences would be us
useful.
Are such tags documented anywhere? I've searched the bt documentation
on unixpapa.com but haven't found anything.

I see from resp:8 that the tags can appear anywhere in a line with or
without other text.
