Lease Renewal Yet Again Mark Unseen   Jan 17 21:55 UTC 2003

It's that time of year when we need to send a letter to
our landlord stating we intend to renew our lease for
another 12 months, from June 2003 through May 2004.
This notification should be received before January 31st.

Would anyone object if I took care of this? I guess, as
we've done in the past, the board should authorized this.
Since our next meeting isn't until mid-February maybe
board members wouldn't mind voting in this item?

Should we renew for another year as per the terms
stated in our lease?

Too, after this we'll only be able to renew one more time, through May
2005. I'm not sure what happens then but we'll probably have to
negotiate a new lease at least. Something to think about.

Do you have a sample of the letter you're planning to send?

This is the one I sent last year. It would be a variation
on the theme.

Dear Mr. Harrington;

Cyberspace Communications is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization
that rents a small room at XXX XXXX. Our organization is quite
happy in this space as it suits our unique needs quite well.
It is our intention to continue renting for a period of one
year, from June 1, 2002 though May 31, 2003, as per the
terms stated in our lease's option to renew clause.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
My home telephone number is XXX-XXXX.

                        Sincerely,
                        Gladys Tanktop

That's nice. She has mine as well. But I'd say the board's is what matters.

I'm sure the BoD doesn't mind hearing the opinions of its membership.
