This item is for discussion of commercial variants of Unix. At one time, this included most major Unix distributions, but these have largely been replaced by various open source projects except in specific vertical fields. Current examples of commercial Unix include AIX, HP-UX, HP Tru64 Unix (once Digial Unix, and before that DEC OSF/1) and Solaris (in so far as this last is controlled by a single commercial entity: Sun). | ||
