I am very concerned about this. I'd like to see more statistical
analysis done. Sorry, I don't know how to do it myself.
How does the activity level in the Winter '97 Agora Conference
compare with activity levels in prior years' Winter Agora Cfs?
Maybe we cross-tab that with whether or not newusers were being
put into the Intro Cf.

Aren't newusers given the option of either General or Intro
as their default conference, with a basic description of
each and an advisory that Intro is a quasi-moderated conference?

Very nice! And during which of these conferences was Intro the
default, which Agora the default, and which was a newuser choice?

I like the way newusers are given a choice as long as the
difference between the two are made clear. But I've never
understood why, knowing it was edited for content, anyone
would choose Intro.

The size of the Winter Agora Cf peaked in 94-95. Since then,
the size has dropped by 50%. What are the ideas people have for
the size drop between 94-95 and 95-96? None of it could have been
due to the Intro Cf, which wasn't an option until summer 96.
Has the size drop in Winter Agora from 95-96 to 96-97 been
partly due to the Intro Cf? Totally due to it?
Since Agora is our principal conference, any drop in its
size could easily mean a drop in over-all conferencing activity.

My impression is that there is an overall drop - my .cflist is often run
through now with whole blocks of .cfs with no entries. If people are not
conferencing, they are doing something else - could that be web surfing?

What ever happened to "Uf Da", anyway?
You don't see it around much anymore.
If we can set up newuser such that it asks people to choose between agora and
intro, would it be possible to set it up such that it asks people to choose
from the entire list of conferences? Maybe make a program that will build
people cflists?

Long back I wrote a program which will build .cflist for you and you can add
delete modify conf's in your .cflist. type \a\n\t\nt\cflbuild. Its
not GREX approved version but still it works fine and it wont harm you.

Re(s) #13 & 14: You're missing an "f", it's "Uff Da"
And now, just to be a jerk: Uff Da, Uff Da, Uff Da!!
