I don't think I mentioned anything I wanted brought up, but I'll mention one
now. I hate to re-open this issue (it's like rubbing a wound), but it came
up recently and I feel the need for some direction.
As you all know we have one non-human member, convocat, and Valerie
pointed out that we have in the past had the People's Food Coop as a
member. I'd like to know what the *current* policy is on accepting
corporations as members, in case another corporation asks me. (I'm not
asking what we think the policy *should* be, just what it *is*.) The
bylaws sort of imply that a member is a person, but as Rane points out, a
corporation is a person for the purposes of state law, so I'm pretty
confused at this point. I'd just like a ruling from the board, one way or
the other, on whether corporations can be members of Grex.

It should not be a question of whether corporations can be members, but
what would be the "member privileges" of corporations. Grex should seek
support where it can find it and if a corporation wants to support Grex
and be called some kind of member, Grex should welcome it. (I guess
as far as *current* policy goes - a precedent has been set.) Oh - this
isn't that item?? Whoops!

No, this is NOT that item. I want to know what the current policy is, not
decide what it should be. I don't feel obliged to follow precedent; we can
chalk that up to mistakes, if we choose. (After all, we once had an
unverified member, I understand, before the policy on verification was
clarified.)
