Hi,
We are very sorry !!!
Someone opened a account last night (March 23) and in the middle of the
night start sending spam emails. By the time we found out, a lot of
emails were already sent out. We do not allow any spam email and his
account ts@okcom.net is deleted already. From several other people who
called, it seems that they are professional spammers and they moved from
ISP to ISP so be careful.
The phone number they gave us now become a fax number which is
718-227-9125.
Again we are very sorry and welcome any suggestions.

Excuse me, but isn't "spam" typically based on useless content and
repetition-count..?
Isn't there a way to have the mail rcv/xmt code look at a counter
and get feisty when it senses "abuse"? IOW, it would set a flag,
log it for operators and just bitbucket or exit?
Sorry, just thought that perhaps it's time to automate such simple
defenses.

There's a big difference between unsolicited spams, and mass mailings sent
out to people who have requested information. From the standpoint of an ISP,
it's really hard to tell which is which other than by the volume of
complaints.

yeah.... hrd to tell the difference between a mailing list
or info service and junk e-mail... without disturbing people's
privacy and reding it, so thery usally wait for complaints, right?
seems logical.

And then there's the occasional time when a mailing goes out "unsolicited"
from one account to 90 others around the world ... but it isn't spam, it's
a wedding or birth announcement to friends and family. That might be stopped
by automated "watchdogs" and (except for loading on small systems like GREX)
it would be unwarranted.
