Since the bylaws don't spell it out for special elections, I
recommend that the board decide when the nominations should
close and when voting is to start. I suggest that the vote run
for 15 days, the same length as a regular board election.

Considering #0 and #2 are posted by the shrinking reasons for me to stay, I
thought they'd do Rob the courtesy of letting his corpse get a little chilly.
Room temperature, at least.
16 minutes. 16 fucking minutes.
Maybe that *is* how much anyone gives a damn about anything around here.
16 FUCKING minutes

I nominate Mary Remmers. Even though she hates me, and wont read my items, I
think she'd be a fine board member. Since I think she just barely lost out
last election, I hope she wants to run again.

Since I am a member until the end of the year, and I believe it was for a
reason I was pointed to membership, I humbly nominate myself, since no one
will do it otherwise.
I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but my popularity has recently been a little
on the thin side.

I suggest the nomination of Richard, as long as he pays his dues to qualify.

I nominate Colleen McGee (cmcgee). Her real-world political experience
would be very valuable in consensus-building on the Board.

Mary, since you just ran two months ago or whenever the last election was,
why would you not want to run now?
Selena, I live in New YOrk not anywhere near Michigan. so I would not be
allowwed to run even if I was a member.
I'd like to see this o to someone who has never servedbefore...grex has a
habit of recycling its board members, and there is a danger of cliqueishness
tha goes with that.

Thank you David. I a currently serving on three boards including being
president of the People's Food Coop. I have to decline the nomination because
of time commitments at this point in my life. Maybe sometime later.

I'd nomiate someone, but I can't really think of anyone
worthwhile right this second... no offense anybody...
the only boardmember i could ever remember was a board member
who wasn't also a politician resigned.

I would love to accept, but have family commitments that make it impossible
right now. (For my rant on that subject, see Oathbound, Item 29, Response
202). Thanks for the compliment.

I'll accept. I guess I sort of count as new blood, seeing as I haven't been
on the board before. However, I am on staff. I guess I'm the reverse of the
usual procedure.

Hmm.. where do I send my money.. i could be on both boards.. :)
Honestly I don't have the time else I might, since I'm trying to do something
for the ann arbor conferencing community currently, helping here and
elsewhere behind the scenes to keep stuff running smoothly.
I'd rather stay that way... I think Mary is a good choice, and that the fact
she isn't going to accept is currently a loss, but I hope she can
get in on it all later, and if not, folks listen to her.. I did once.
