Non-Magic collectable trading card games Mark Unseen   Jan 13 04:23 UTC 1995

"Magic" already has its own item, but what do folks think of some of the
other new "collectable trading card games?" Some that come to mind are:

Jyhad (a Vampire game from the creator of Magic), Star Trek: The Next
Generation, Illuminati: New World Order (a revamp of the classic conspiracy
card game from Steve Jackson Games), a superhero game, and a
soon-to-be-released SimCity (!) card game.

Of the above listed, I've only played Illuminati, and I liked it so far.
Some people criticize it's too easy to win quickly, but other people say
that's because their opponents haven't picked up finer points of strategy
yet. So far, fast wins hasn't been a problem for me :-).

I've heard Jyhad is a bit hard to learn at first, partly due to abundent
use of graphical icons, and that it's been doing poorly in the market
(Rider's Hobby downtown was selling Jyhad starter decks and boosters for
half price this week).

Somehow I don't connect vampires with "jyhad" (or "jihad")...

DOH! I meant to put this in the games conference. I assume there's no
easy way to move it? (Boy is my face red...sorry! :-).

The fw(s) of the Games conference can link it over there, then
you can freeze or kill the Coop version.

You should have seen the look on my face at 6 AM, trying to
figure out what Jyhad had to do with Grex bylaws...

Yup, send mail to the games fw, asking them to link it. Then send
mail to the coop fws, asking them to kill this item. That will move it
over into the games conference. You don't want to freeze it in coop:
that will leave it in both conferences, frozen in both.

You see? Even I don't know everything about Grex. >8)

Ajax has re-entered this item in the games conference. This version
is being frozen and retired as he requests it be removed from
the active conference.
