i'd like to thank naftee for bringing this important issue (whcih is, no
doubt, intimately related with valerie/popcorn's criminal vandalism of the
system).

I don't consider a fair-witness freezing itmes to a "mysterious system
problem."

Fair Witnesses and/or item authors often freeze items. I am not sure
there is a problem here.

Why was a series of items, apparently unrelated except for thier
consecutiveness, frozen for no apparent reason whatsoever and without and
declaration of reason?
This is a problem, and it has to do with free speech.

You're not a problem at all. Just a nuisance.

This doesn't explain why the items in agora were frozen without explanation.

Probably because they were in an old agora that no one would read, and
people who posted there might be surprised that no one answered their
posts. In this case, it's a policy supporting freedom of speech, by
getting text to where it's most visible. Isn't allowing someone to post
into an empty forum with no reasonable expectation of readership also
a form of censorship?

Uh, cross, you're just spouting nonsense. Have a look at some other old
agoras. You don't find twentysomethingodd frozen items all in a row. What
is going on here ?

Re. 15: No, it's not censorship, because it's the person's choice, unless
it's motivated by external factors, in which case it might be SELF-censorship.
Needless to say, the question still remains: Why were SOME of the items
frozen? What made them more freezable than the other items in the conference?
Should the others be thawed? Should these ones be frozen?
All human intellectual prgoress has been made by discovery of the ODD, that
is, the stuff that doesn't fit into our current understanding of the world.
Why are you so against progress, cross?

The fact that these are consecutive threads, I'd speculate that it's
either a glitch caused by the system, or the FW was doing something and
accidently froze these items and doesn't realize it.
