Request for restoration of polytarp's account. Mark Unseen   Jan 30 04:00 UTC 2004

I am making an official gobbily-goop request to have my username 'polytarp'
returned to me. I have not commited any 'crapfloods,' or 'mass-tels,' which
I assume where the reasons leading to the killing of my account. The only
reason to continue to deny me access to my account is petty-vengence, or
perhaps extreme laziness. Unless you believe restoring my account will cause
me to suddenly being a 'twit' again, I do not understand how you would have
 a problem with my request.

I always find it amusing how he alternates between declaring how stupid
and pointless Grex and Grexers are, and begging for his account back.

I find it amusing that people respond at all to this sort of nonsense, which
is what keeps it going.

Re. 3: I'm told polytarp has never said anything like that. Do you have any
basis for your remark?

Is it even the case that polytarp's account has been "locked"? Just a couple
of minutes ago I read an "I'm sorry" item in agora from polytarp. Staff?

arig's account, I hear, was also locked almost immedietly after he admitted
being polytarp.

Sure, but the way you phrased it means you incorectly thought it for a couple
(not necessarily two, in any common usage) of days before to-day, which you
obviously didn't mean.

Can any baffer verify that something was indeed to the polytarp account?

We don't normally discuss actions against people. But yes, every account
that has been positively identifed as belonging to the person sometimes
known as "polytarp" has been locked.

I, at least, am content to see if the current measures are sufficient to
inspire a change in behaviour. If they have not, I fear the locking of
his accounts, when identified, will continue.

That wouldn't do any real good; he has already demonstrated the ability to
'launder' his connections to us. If we were to try IP blocking, we'd soon
be blocking a significant fraction of the Internet, I think.

I'm surprised my account wasn't locked!

re 3 That was actually me.

re 17 Doesn't GreX not log full IPs?

resp:8 maybe. Only poly hyphenates today as "to-day"... or as best
I've observed. Quirky, quirky.
