Hello there,
the login looks so primitive on your system, what about a nice login-logo?
How do you think about this one:

Well, there is something vaguely appealing about
Welcome to Grex, midnight snack of champions!

(I also like it. it reminds me of the latest t-shirt logo.)

I used to complain about complex logos like that, when I had a 300 baud
modem, but I guess that's no longer a problem for anyone. ;)

So the system dumps a bunch of ASCII at you when you telnet in,
which probably scrolls off the screen before you see it because
of the other announcements below it. Or it displays long enough
to see, but it takes forever to get past it because the net is
congested. Yeah, great idea. ;-)

(I can't say I've ever seen the login prompt scroll off the screen.
[my understanding is that the logo would be placed somewhere before
the "Champions" line.] do net connections really choke on <1K files?)

Re #5: I think the idea is to have this appear *before* the login prompt.
