Please indicate in this item anything else that should be on the agenda.

(Marcus evidently figured out the numbering scheme I've been using, but
didn't reveal the algorithm, so I've continued the numbering from where
it left off in the last agenda -- posted in resp:90,11 -- just in case
anybody else wants to have a crack it. If in a couple of weeks nobody
posts an explanation of how the numbers are generated, I'll do so.)

Remmers: I think Grex Board meetings might be more popular if you
weren't banging the gavel throughout them. I suppose it does keep the
length of the meetings down, though; maybe the trade-off is worthwhile.
I imagine this jackhammer sound, as remmers dribbles his gavel on a
podium for an hour or two...

Besides noting the new starting time & day of the week, also note that the
name of the month in DATE AND TIME is wrong ... March 24 was a while ago.

Presumably getting a listing again in the A^2 Observer's annual City Guide.
Last year's (under Clubs&Classes/Hobbies,Games,&SpecialInterests/Clubs)
was nice, but how many of the people who'd have been interested found it?

Right. We got a message from Lisa Wagner of the Observer, indicating
that the 1999 edition of the City Guide is in preparation, and that
we could continue our old listing from the 1998 edition, or make
changes in it. The purporse of the agenda item is to consider if we
want to make any changes. The 1998 listing reads as follows:

-----
Grex. Call Dan Romanchik, 930-6564. Free-access computer system offering
a wide range of discussion areas covering topics from cooking to politics
to webpage writing for people of all ages. Also offers minimal Internet
access, including E-mail. There is no charge to use Grex, but frequent
users are encouraged to become members and participate in cooperatively
running the system. To connect, use a computer with a modem and dial
761-3000, or, from the Internet, telnet to cyberspace.org. Users meet at
Gallup Park for a walk every Sat. 10:15 a.m. Website: www.cyberspace.org
E-mail: info@cyberspace.org
-----

Any new listing should be about the same length and should avoid
"selling phrases" - i.e. the purpose of the listing is to let people
know that the organization is there, not to sell it.

It occurs to me that we might want to emphasize the web interface a
bit more.

Put in something about non-graphical, and any computer will work no matter
how old? (We known someone doing grex on a Commodore 64).

Does Dan still want to be the listed contact person?

response 13 of 13: Mark Unseen   May 24 11:00 UTC 1999

He's indicated that he's willing to continue, but also that he
hasn't received any calls for a long time.
