By the 24th, we should have a decent idea of whether or not the E-Minds
people will need to move to Grex (see item:223) If this does happen,
would it need to be discussed and voted on by the board? (if answer to
previous question is "Yes", I would recommend adding an agenda item for
it *grin*)

I think it's sufficiently unlikely not to need any vote or special
attention. The simplest clue is despite our being an open system, none
of them have chosen to participate, and despite their claims to be an
open system, two grex people were unable to join any of their
discussions.
My impression based on what people have reported back is that they'd
probably be best served by having their own home in any case, and
wouldn't necessarily be very happy here. I don't think these people are
either malicious or bad, just different. They're certainly more
different than m-net is from us, and I think most of us already have far
too clear an idea what it would be like if m-net & grex had to somehow
share the same computer and one were entirely dependent on the other.
Besides sociology, there is also the matter of economics. Here on grex,
we've always been used to bottom feeding economic strategies,
self-sufficiency, and a basic theory of trying to stretch resources as
far as they'll go. The EMinds folks have never been self-sufficient,
and yet, compared to us, they've been relatively quite rich.
Essentially, we're beggars, and we think we're rich because we found a
"large" supply of really cheap canned cat food. We've found a rich guy
who overextended on his credit card (or maybe it's just that his
favorite restaurant closed, so he can't enjoy free meels as a "food
critic" there anymore), and we're trying to offer him a cat food meal,
with ketchup, if he'll take it. There's a reason why beggars and rich
men aren't often found dining together.
