Minutes for the 8-21-00 Board Meeting Mark Unseen   Aug 22 03:48 UTC 2000

Well, ya'all, this was an action packed meeting, as always.

MINUTES:
Attendance: Greg and Meg were there, Eric appeared at 7. We waited until
7:25, decided that we would leave in 5 minutes if nobody else showed
up. Marcus did about 2 minutes later. Drew showed up a few minutes
        after that.

Gavel Banging: Apperantly, out of Boredom, Eric banged the gavel against his
chest every now and then. Since there was no quorom, there was no
        official start to the meeting.

Chairman's Report: Eric showed us a picture of his chain mail.

Treasurer's Report: Greg just picked up the mail today, as he was out of town.
He thinks that we did pretty good in July, and will have stuff up
        eventually.

Publicity Committee: Yeah, right.

Technical Committee: Drew showed up to hand over a SCSI 4mm tape drive.

Tape Drive Wrap-up: Like we were going to discuss anything important with half
        the board missing!

Scheduale Next Meeting: See above.

New Business: Ditto

Gavel Cessation: No meeting, no banging to stop.

'Round about 8, we decided that the rest of the meeting would be better held
in a bar somewhere. Eric, Drew, and Marcus dropped the drive off at the
Pumpkin, and then Eric, Meg and Greg met at Connor's for a pint. All in all,
a very productive meeting.

Oh! While we were waiting, as Secretary, I fealt that it was my duty to keep
everybody amused. So I was reading out loud from the most recent Metro Times.
Some favorite quotes from the personals ads:
        "Hairy a plus"
        "Looking for Aisian Princess"
"Searching for an angel with the face of a covergirl and the body of
a centerfold, who shares my intelligence, passion, sensuality,
fitness, spirituality, creativity, openness, success and
                humor" (Gee...what guy isn't....)
        "Hercules seeks Xena"
        "Tattoos and peircings a plus"
        "Warning: May Cause Happiness"
"Young Woman Wanted...between 18-25, pretty, fit and wild. I'm...
                ..fit, handsome, and needing affection"
        "Ms. Strict, Where Are You?"
"Well hung with a hot tongue."
        "Energizer Keeps Going and Going!"
"Father Figure...Looking for a young lady who needs direction and
                guidence..."
        "Have Flogger Will Travel"

And the best comes from "The Advice Goddess" column.
"...since speedy service seemed to be of primary importance to
Mr. Backwash, it appears pretty clear that what he was looking
for wasn't love, but a Jiffy Lube."

Next meeting will be figured out online or in mail, and we'll let you know
when it will be.

One advantage to no meeting is the minutes get entered much quicker.

Out of twelve meetings a year, there's usually about two that
don't make quorum for one reason or another -- a quorum being
five out of seven members. Sorry I couldn't make it last
night, but we're in the throes of house moving at the moment.

Sigh. I was there, but after everyone else had left. I got there
at 8:01, got my coke and was at the kid's room by 8:03 but no one
was there. I'm sorry for being late, especially so that I didn't
get there at all.

Actually, I kinda feel bad too, because you must have *JUST* missed us. :(

The reason the minutes got entered quicker is because I din't have to sit down
for more than an hour to get them done this time. :)

easier to decipher your notes when they're already printed [in the metro
times], eh? ;)

Something like that. :) And because it really does take me a lot of patience
to sit down and deal with writing the silly things. It literally will take
me more than an hour.

Okay:
We need to decide when the next meeting is. Anybody got good dates/bad dates?

We also need to get the vote going on the backup system. Is anybody still
alive and thinking about it?

Yes. ;-) And I agree about meeting times/dates. Short of a family disaster
I'll make the time for it.

Well, since I'm usually not the one with the problems in schedualing, will
somebody else start talking as to when they are available???

I am as yet unable to determine what my schedule looks like, but I
suspect that a Monday evening in late september will not be a problem for
me.

Probably not a problem for me, either. Any weekday evening
Mon-Thurs should be okay, with a slight preference for Tuesdays
and Thursdays. Mondays are fine with me if they work for
everybody else.

Tuesdays are bad for me.

Honestly, Monday nights seem to work best for me, 'cause I'm usually garunteed
to open that day.

I'm more or less flexible.
