Well, as a matter of history, there was an extensive discussion of the idea
of linked conferences between grex and mnet a few years ago on grex.
Anyone with a better memory recall which agora that was?

This was done about a decade ago using software called "remps" that Jon
Zeeff wrote. Right now I don't know how to do it.
It'd take a substantial bit of software development work to regenerate
this.

More than a decade ago, actually. I remember remps being around
in 1987. It was used to share conferences between M-Net and Chinet.
This was well before the days of affordable internet connections;
the underlying transport mechanism was email, if I recall correctly.
Since email was slow back then, it would often be a matter of hours
before a response posted on one system would show up on the other.
A few years ago there were some experiments using NFS to share
conferences between M-Net and other systems. This never worked
terribly well, and there are security issues.
An email approach would be much faster now, since email is virtually
instantaneous. But as Jan said, re-implementing this is a
substantial software development project. Unless there's an
interest in doing a substantial amount of conference sharing, I
doubt it's worth the effort.

(YAPP systems, as I understand it, have a sharing feature built-in
that uses e-mail to post. I also understand, from using a shared
conference on Chinet, there are stabliity issues even there. I
believe those more technically adept than I have already weighed in
with the difficulties of getting YAPP to share with Picospan as-is.)

If we had source to Yapp's conference sharing stuff, odds are it
wouldn't be too hard to adapt to work on Grex with Picospan.
