Computer books Mark Unseen   May 11 12:52 UTC 1996

Donated by Rob Argy and Grex (ajax):
Grex has a few books left over from the last JCC sale that we might
as well put up for auction. I believe these are all unused books (we
received them from an editor who got them as review copies), and I
can provide added information about any of them if you're interested.
How about a minimum bid of $2.50 per book, and if they need to be
mailed, I'll donate the shipping expense.

1 Inside the Information Superhighway Revolution (1995, $19.95)
[Good overview of many Internet-related topics]
2 The Online Users Encyclopedia: Bulletin Boards and Beyond (Nov 1993, 32.95)
[Large 800 pgs, comprehensive, includes Internet/Usenet info]
3 Whole Earth Online Almanac (1993, $32.95)
[Big index to online resources (Internet, Compuserve, BBSes, etc.)]
4 Detour: The Truth About the Information Superhighway (1994, $22.99, hrdbck)
[Interviews with experts about the future of computing; looks good!]
5 The Electronic Invasion: The Brave New World of Business Communications
(1993, $26.95) [Tech & policy overview of LANs, E-Mail, video conf, etc.]
6 Usenet: Netnews for Everyone (1994, $24.95)
[Maybe 75-100 pages about Usenet; rest is lists of newsgroups & commands]
7 The Best Guide to Business Shareware (1994, $34.95, two 3.5" disks)
8 Using Computer Bulletin Boards (1992, $29.95, 3.5" disk)

There's a $2.50 minimum bid mentioned in #0. With less than that, the
cost of shipping probably exceeds the cost of the books. But if I can
find a transporter (and it sounds like several thousand Grexers are
visiting Frieda this summer), I suppose a buck a book is okay.
