How This Works, and Welcome! Mark Unseen   May 11 12:02 UTC 1996

Hi! Welcome to Grex's auction conference!

How it works:
Starting with item 3, each item describes something to be auctioned off.
If you would like to bid on it, enter a response in the item saying how
many dollars you would pay for the item.

When nobody has made a new bid in a week, the item is sold to the highest
bidder. That person will send a check or money order to Cyberspace
Communications for the amount that they bid. When the check arrives, the
donor will arrange to deliver what you bought to you.

Note that some items are available for anybody, anywhere, to bid on, while
others, such as a home-cooked meal, would be difficult to deliver outside
the area where the person donating it lives. If you live far away from Ann
Arbor, you'll probably want to keep track of which items can be mailed to you,
to decide whether or not to bid on them.

This item, item 1, is frozen, to get people into the main part of the
auction quickly. Item 2 is open for discussion of the auction. At an "Ok:"
prompt, type "browse" to see a list of the things being auctioned off.

If you would like to donate something to be auctioned off, please send mail
to "auction", which is popcorn and robh, or enter a response in Agora item 56.
Many thanks!!

All proceeds go to Cyberspace Communications, Inc. (that's Grex). If this
auction brings in enough money, we can get Grex a faster Internet connection!
