The Gripe Item Mark Unseen   Apr 2 23:13 UTC 2002

Got frustration? Got problems that don't fit in the "bummed" item?

This is the place to air them, ladies and gentlemen.

Jamie, I know you don't like taking your meds, but they *do* keep the
hallucinations away.

Re 4: Could be much worse, Eric. You could be forced to use Win98 or even
WinME.

I prefer 98 to 95, generally. However, on this system, I think 3.1 might be
preferred. First choice on this system would be Linux, but I don't know if
there's a port of Lotus Notes or IomegaWare for Linux...

Linux comes with software to talk to iomega drives. The only confusing
part is sorting through all the ide vs. scsi vs. parallel port
configuration issues.

I don't know for sure about lotus notes, but there's a *chance* there's
a linux version. IBM owns lotus notes, and they're pretty gung ho on
linux these days, so they may well have made a point of making sure a
linux version exists.

Cool, thanks! I don't suspect I'll be able to talk anyone into swapping
my OS on the work machine (their Notes server runs NT -- I'll bet they
don't even have anyone who knows *nix), but I'll ask...

Yeah russ is one of those folks who thinks the market should take care
of everything until some band plays at a bar someplace and *the market*
has dictated that the place allow smoking. I am all for indoor air
quality laws but I dont pretend that the market is perfect either.

I am sooo sick and tired of hearing folks bash this politican or that
politican. When it comes to politics, it never fails to see people
display such smug, self-righteous, all-knowing behavior. The specific
part is that Grexers tend to be on the left or on the right, but
rarely are many that comment really in the middle. Most are on the
left, it seems to me.

I will take a look after I finish posting (I changed my mind), but let
me ask this question: just how active is the politics conference?
Politics seems to dominate the content of Agora here, and rarely do I
see mention that any such item is linked to politics, nor do I see
requests that such discussion might better be served there.

Everything is political when someone has an agenda.
