Sex, Whips and Chains Grounds for Divorce?

ROME (Reuters) - It might have seemed like a bit of slap and
          tickle at the time, but an Italian court has ruled that
          sadomasochism is justifiable grounds for divorce. 

           Italy's highest appeals court has backed a woman's claim that
          her ex-husband was responsible for the break-up of their
          marriage after making excessive demands for sadomasochistic
          sex, leaving her psychologically and physically bruised. 

          Wednesday's decision overturned a lower court ruling which
          had said the wealthy couple were equally responsible for the
          divorce since, while she had to put up with his sexual
          predilections, he had to suffer her arguing and plate
          throwing. 

          After hearing evidence from psychoanalysts who treated the
          woman for a nervous breakdown during the marriage, the
          higher court ruled the man should have been more
          sympathetic to his wife and not insisted that she join in his
          sexual games.

looking elsewhere for the 'slap and tickle' - 'thrown plates' is a
