My cousin is a world renowned theater organist. Last I saw him he was playing a giant Wurlitzer at the Pied Piper Pizza Peddler in Birmingham.. that was the early 80s or late 70s. He has an album out now apparently. http://theatreorgans.com/rochestr/CD0012.htm There are some MP3 samples on the page. I always enjoyed the music of the Wurlitzer Pipe Organ.. and he played great!

I like the sound of a pipe organ, but often don't like the music they play on them. What songs are on your cousin's CD, Rick?

I can access the WWW again. Hey, this guy is pretty good! The pipe organ music I already have is mostly religious. Your cousin's music is different. I might order his CD. On a Wonderful Day Like Today, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Makin’ Whoopee, What’ll I Do, Fascination, Somewhere My Love, Little Red Monkey, Aba Daba Honeymoon, Sentimental Journey, Take the A-Train, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, Bugler’s Holiday, Memory, Mr. Mistoffelees, Fiddler on the Roof, Sunrise Sunset, Matchmaker, If I Were a Rich Man, Moonlight in Vermont, Sing Sing Sing, 42nd Street, Five Foot Two Eyes of Blue, Ain’t She Sweet, How Are Things in Glocca Morra, Yellow Bird, España Cañi, La Cumparista and Galloping Comedians.

r 2 - yeah, we had a pipe organ in our church... but this stuff is WAY better than boring religious music played on a mediocre pipe organ. The Wurlitzer is the King of Pipe Organs. "Somewhere my love" is one of my favorites that Lance played at the old Pizza Peddler. It sounded very grand. I'm going to order the CD too.

Yeah, my sister has a 600 pipe Wurlitzer organ at her place. The Village Chapel of Fowlerville, MI now has the organ that was once at the Granda in Detroit. see http://historicvillagechapel.com . Wedding chapel and Concert Hall.

It's all about George Wright. A pipe organ and a theatre aregan are two completely different beasts. (that's theatre *organ*, oops) A Theatre organ is designed to entertain, and a pipe organ is designed to scare the Hell out of you!

No wonder the previous owner installed it in a wedding chapel.
