How's by you?

So, how was your day? No need to be happy here, no need to be bummed,
just keep breathing. Why does it make a difference?

i had a nice breakfast at Cappy's in the Park Shelton, at Woodward and Kirby,
then went over to the theatre to put a sign up so the tourgroup coming at 1:30
would know they were in the right place. They arrived at noon, so I gave the
tour, admonishing occasionally not to step in the holes in the floor (we're
still under construction). Gotta love improv...
Went grocery shopping, and am now doing laundry and grexing.
I will be going to Lili's later (on Jacob at Jos Campau in Hamtramck -- just
down the street) to continue wooing the cute bartender... ;)

our power got turned back on after being out for 2 days, adn we had to replace
all of our food. The stuff in the freezer was melted and the stuff in the
fridge was warm. So I went to Sam's club and Meijers today and spent almost
$200 on restocking what we had lost, plus the buying I would have had to
normally.
I'm too tired to cook or eat now. Isn't that the funny part of it?

I had a good day. I'm feeling a bit better, physically. I got a nice phone
call. We got a nice break (for once) and pulled one out.

I've been unpacking my belongings, which have finally arrived.
It's been six months since I left Michigan, during which time I've
been functioning just fine without 90% of what I own, which is quite
thought-provoking. Nevertheless, I'm surprisingly glad to be surrounded
by my own stuff again, and especially glad to have my CD collection
available once more -- of the things I've missed most in the past half
a year, most of them were musical recordings I couldn't listen to..
(the other biggie was my desk -- it's really nice to have a big, flat,
stable work area again: a card table simply doesn't cut it..)

Had a good, relaxing day not doing too much at all. Visited with
company, got some cross-stitch work done on my mom's Christmas present,
and chatted with some friends at various times. Over all it has been a
great weekend. And yes, having a clean apartment is a lovely lovely
thing.

I was amazed at how well I did living for seven weeks with only what I had
been able to fit into the trunk of my car, plus a few thigns I bought once
I got here. But having my stuff again was nice when it showed up.

Work was stressful, but I got stuck up at the desk once again when our typical
non-attendees reared their ugly heads. The Lions won and, most importantly,
Formula One returned to the USA. Not bad atall.

resp:6 (you should now have a new appreciation for George Carlin's "stuff"
routine.)
(roommate was gone for the weekend, climbed a climbing wall for the first
time, saw an excellent PPV... today was a good day.)

IHB I got to see a friend I haven't seen in a long time.
IVHB I saw my old boss from Domino's (who now runs the Maple store), and we
had a good, long chat about various things. It was nice. =)

Yesterday I cleaned, did dishes, and cooked. Oh, I will achieve the
cleanliness that sarah and anne have achieved. It might take me several years
and 6 moves, but I WILL have a clean house again!

I'm puzzled. Somebody either broke into my room, or my roommate did
this, but when I came back after classes, I found a brand new bar of
soap sitting on my desk. If it was someone breaking in, they didn't
take anything or touch anything else. And why would they leave soap?
If it was my roommate, he's a mind reader, I was about to go out and buy
a bar of soap.

re: #20 ah. well, in the service, leaving soap on someone's rack was a way
to send a message. if the message wasn't comprehended, the recipient was
invited to a...ummmm...party.
