Perhaps it ought to be called 'post' instead, after all, all the users
of yapp and picospan already know how to use it a little so it really is
sort of deceptive to be already 'in' the conference and to have to
'read' an item instead of having to 'enter' it.  But you 'enter' a 'chat
room' without creating it I think -I don't do IRC or similar.

There are two schools on this issue - either all new users are like a
fish in a new ocean or maybe part of the newuser program ought to
encourage the download and printing of a small 'newuser guide'.

Dunno, I already know how to do what I want.
