Everybody Talks About the Weather
|
Sep 27 16:54 UTC 2000 |
Oh, sure. You don't want to talk about the weather *today* -- cool,
clear, crisp, perfect football weather. But just wait four or six
weeks, until your car starts sliding down the icy highway, and then
you'll want to remember that this is item:33 in the Agora conference.

So today should be game day? I like that.
Instead of planning games around TV times, we only schedule them when the
weather is "football" weather. So then we could have ski weather, swimming
weather, and just for variety fender-bender weather.

I ADORE FALL. It's no secret. =) I love the smell of the air, the
temperature, wearing a jacket, playing in the leaves, baking stuff using apple,
pumpkin, nutmeg, and various Fall things, drinking apple cider, watching
football and anticipating hockey, and Halloween. *bounces*

Today seems to be perfect football weather. Clear, about 65, slight
breeze. Too bad Syracuse plays in a dome.
On the other hand, I love watching football in bad weather. I don't
necessarily like being in it, but I love the effect it has on the game.
Again negated by the fact that Syracuse plays in a dome.

Thanks to the kind temps, I ended up bush whacking some more.
The bushes that got wacked are at the curb now, waiting compost pickup.

I love fall too . . .for all of the reasons Sarah posted.
And please, everyone, PLEASE - say a little prayer that the DC area gets cool
weather and no rain this weekend. We have a huge training run this weekend
and I would prefer not to work 30 hours in the rain.

at least a frost.)

(Heh... I read 'kind temps' at first as kind temporary secretaries...
<laughs>)
Okay, so the weather has been okay... but it's getting a *little* too
cool for my tastes... I definitely need to move somewhere warmer.

In Ann Arbor, it looks like freezing low temperatures Friday night
into Monday will bring an end to the tomato growing season.

First winter driving of the year this evening on I-96, as a snow squall
near Howell obliterated the lane markings and dropped traffic speeds
as low as 35 mph. Fortunately these conditions only lasted for
about 15 minutes.

Conditions had worsened by 12:40 when I passed through that same area, Ken.
Things became quite congested in Brighton. The snow abruptly melted south
of Silver Lake rd.

real snow...

that isn't real snow... need a good three inches. Let us not act like
southerners, err I mean stupid about this. If you own a sports car please
remember to drive sensible.

(all of our snow melted, ALREADY.) :(
(the anti-fog stuff I bought has to be applied in temperatures above
40 degrees F. we're not expected to have anything that warm for at least
the next week. I had to scrape frost off the *inside* of the windshield
last night. hopefully I won't have to do that this afternoon.)
