Carol recently heard a TV commentator say that if someone would just admit
to it, we could all get on with our lives. Until then, anyone care to
speculate?

Me, I think it's a manufactured song. Somebody sat down and said, "You know,
sports anthems suck. But they're still really popular and last a long time,
regardless of the fact that they suck. I think I'll write a shitty song that
can easily be chanted by thousands of dumb fans at the top of their lungs to
celebrate a purely transitory or even imaginary triumph. It will be the
easiest million I ever made."

I just wish I had done it first. ;)

re 3 - you don't wanna know

re 2 - you still can. People come up with this crap all the time. If you
think it's so incredibly easy, you should be able to have the next dumb
superhit by next week. Let me know when you're finished.

I got a tear in my eye when they told how those senior home workers
rescued those retrievers from the icy hole into which they fell. The dogs
should be OK.

Okay. Fine. So here is a serious question on what I think we are talking
about, which is the annoying song "Who Let The Dogs Out" by the Bega Men.
Now, this song wasn't so bad until I started paying attention to the lyrics
(what I could truly understand).

Is it just my interpertation, or is this song about a party where what the
singers consider ugly women show up and they start singing about "get away
from me you feel infested mongrel" and "who let the dogs out?". Or am I
reading this wrong and it's about dogs, like lassie, like the Pres. Of the
USA song about the kitty <meow>

I found the lyrics to this song (http://www.lyrics.co.nz/8-19a.htm)
It's kinda long.

Who let the dogs out
{woof, woof, woof, woof}
{woof, woof, woof, woof}
{woof, woof, woof, woof}
{woof, woof, woof, woof}

Chorus:
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}

{woof, woof, woof, woof}

Verse:
When the party was nice, the party was jumpin'  {Hey, Yippie, Yi, Yo}
And everybody havin' a ball                     {Hah, ho,  Yippie Yi Yo}
I tell the fellas "…start the name callin'…"            {Yippie Yi Yo}
And the girls report to the call
The poor dog show down

Chorus:
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}

Rap 1:
I see ya' little speed boat head up our coast
She really want to skip town
Get back off me, beast off me
Get back you flea infested monger

Instrumental Chorus:
{woof, woof, woof, woof}
{woof, woof, woof, woof}
{woof, woof, woof, woof}
{woof, woof, woof, woof}

Verse:
I'm gonna tell                                  {Hey, Yippie, Yi, Yo}
To any girls calling them canine                        {Yippie, Yi, Yo}
Tell the dummy "Hey Man, It's part of the Party!"       {Yippie Yi, Yo}
You fetch a women in front and her mans behind  {Yippie, Yi, Yo}
Her bone runs out now

Chorus:
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}

Chant:
Say, A doggy is nuttin' if he don't have a bone All dogy hold
ya' bone, all doggy hold it
        A doggy is nuttin' if he don't have a bone All dogy hold
ya' bone, all doggy hold it

Rap # 2:

Wait for y'all my dogs, the party is on
I gotta get my girl I got my myind on
Do you see the rays comin' from my eye
What could you be friend
that Benji man that's breakin' them down?
Me and My white short shorts
And I can't seek a lot, any canine will do
I'm figurin' that's why they call me faithful
'Cause I'm the man of the land
When they see me they do…ah-ooooo(howl)

Chorus (5 X's ):
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}
Who let the dogs out            {woof, woof, woof, woof}

So it would appear that the singers are referring to men as dogs? (That
what I got before I read the lyrics)

<laughs hard> We heard this on the radio at work the other night, and it was
hilarious listening to most of my employees doing their own versions of
barking.  It's kinda catchy.

The rotunda at Ohio Stadium condentrates sound rather nicely. On my way
inside, one of the drunk OSU students shouted "Who let the dogs out!" and
received a thunderous chorus of barking in reply. Actually, I heard it a fair
amount.
