tsty and aaron chime in occasionally -- you'll find responses or items
entered by them in the current agora conference.

Wow another Ann Arbor to Oregon Grexer, weird...

I seem to recall that fixer moved to California, but I could
be mistaken.

Of course, *real* oldtimers like me who were active in the
pre-grex Ann Arbor conferencing scene could ask about a whole
bunch of long-gone m-net posters. For example:

allasee
auterman
bhoward
cloud
czr
drea
festive
glr
jaj
jal
jlawler
kit
kite
las
michael
mindy
mpjt
sara
scribe
sgokee
sgs
smurfett
turtle
valley
vsoden
x

(I could go on and on...)

kite is still around. But he hardly ever grexes or m-nets.
he does tell me what to do from time to time and give me a paycheck.

mythago now lives in *California*, albeit by way of Oregon.
Last I knew, rogue was living in Texas.

re #4: I understand keats lives in Brooklyn, Michigan, not the one in
New York.

(My list in #7 dates from the 1984-1990 era. I have an idea
where some of the folks are, but not all.)

Bjorn swore off conferencing/Grex a couple of years ago. He was pissed off
about something that I can't even remember.

re #10: You understand incorrectly, unless it is now possible to step
outside of one's apartment, look down the street, and see the
Statue of Liberty from Brooklyn, Michigan. ;-)

response 15 of 23: Mark Unseen   Nov 9 20:46 UTC 2000

I'm here, and I respond regularly in agora. This pern must not have looked
very hard for me.

Though I'm fascinated that they included me in a list of old time posters...
I have never been very active in Grex agora until this past spring. With the
possible exception of agora1.

bhoward is in Japan. glr is in Libertyville, IL. Or was, -- it appears
he may have moved to Oil City, PA. czr is in Lansing. drea is still in
town, although I'm sorry to say I missed the latest pumpkin massacre.

re #14: Thanks! I appreciate it. I live about 15 miles from Brooklyn,
MI, and have occasionally thought I ought to try to look him up. I
guess that would be a wasted effort. (-:

re #16: Assuming we're talking about Bruce Howard, I think he's no
longer in Japan but was living in London last I heard..

response 19 of 23: Mark Unseen   Nov 9 23:57 UTC 2000

Ah, well, it only figures. Does he have Irish citizenship now or not?
mcnally
response 20 of 23: Mark Unseen   Nov 10 01:21 UTC 2000

I don't know -- was he applying for it under their "law of return"?

It'd make sense to have it if he qualifies, since it would make it a lot
easier to work in the EU.
mdw
response 21 of 23: Mark Unseen   Nov 10 02:48 UTC 2000

That was the original deal many years ago - I never understood how that
applied to Japan though.

response 22 of 23: Mark Unseen   Nov 10 03:47 UTC 2000

I don't know that it has any effect, but I think his wife holds Japanese
citizenship. I'm not in close touch with him but we have a number of common
friends and acquaintances from school and work and we run across each other
  periodically..

As a '94 Grex member in exile, I always come back when I am looking for
good analysis or depth of information that the press doesn't provide.

It is perplexing to me how I can find Grex to be so rewarding while I
manage to find so little time for it in my life.
