Item 4: The housesitting
Entered by carson on Sun Jun 26 20:45:16 1994:
(One of your friends goes away with her family on an extended vacation.
You offer to housesit. During your time housesitting, you have a date over
at the house. Things get a little out of hand, and you begin to have sex
on your friend's bed. During the course of this passionate love-making
session, the bed breaks!)
(do you tell your friend how the bed broke?)

I'm not sure any of my friends would believe me.

Sure...
#3 of 25 by dang on Mon Jun 27 17:09:31 1994:
that depends on the friend.

No, I mean I think most of my friends know me well enough to know I
probably wouldn't be that lucky. :( Now, if I told them my computer had
gotten too heavy and had collapsed the bed while I was lying in bed using
it....

actually, the most likely friend weighs more than me and my girlfriend
together, so i doubt his bed would break :)

My friends know me and would probably guess that's what happened before I
told them anyway! :)

I think I would get the bed fixed before the friend got back, and never
mention it.

Not if you want to keep the friend.
#9 of 25 by dang on Tue Jul 5 03:48:09 1994:
this is true.

I would tell the friend that I had broken the bed and that I was going to
pay to get it fixed. Whether I would tell the friend how the bed broke
would depend in large part on who the friend was. As long as I was going
to pay for it, there are a lot of people I know who I would not tell
because it would be none of their business.

It depends on the friend, definitely...

you don't want to know. Really. And you *REALLY* don't want to be called it.

(I'm having too much trouble imagining myself in this situation!)
I'd tell the friend, if only because there's no way I could keep my
mouth shut. Hopefully their pet wasn't beneath the bed...

It would depend on the housesitting agreement between friend his/her family
and myself. I would certainly tell friend what happened in detail but his/her
family might only need to know the part about my being on the bed. At any rate
inspect the bed to determine if it has a previous history of breaking at that
point, and repair

Yes, I would tell my friend how the bed broke. And if s(he) didn't believe
me, I would show her/him the video tape I made of the "session".

I would either fix the bed bed or pay to have it fixed and tell the story to
my friend. I would also wash the sheets and have the bed ready for them when
they returned home.

I would tell them what happened, definitely, after having bought them a new
bed and burned the old one.
You have several choices:
