I watched "Kiss of the Tarantula" on DVD from Netflix last night, a shlocky low-budget horror film from 1976. Lousy acting; plot holes big enough to drive a truck through. Probably made its money from drive-in showings. It's about a disturbed young woman with a spider obsession who wreaks revenge on people who have taunted or otherwise offended her by killing them in gruesome ways that usually involve hordes of tarantulas. Kind of reminiscent of "Carrie" or "The Bad Seed". The poor actors had to put up with having real live tarantulas crawling over them during the filming; there was no way they could have done it convincingly with CGI in the 1970s. I can't think of many good reasons to watch this. The only reason I did was out of curiosity regarding an indirect connection with Grex, which might occur to you too if you scroll through the acting credits on IMDb and happen to remember everything that's been said on Grex for the last 20 years or so. ;-)
re #1 Wallner?
Under the Skin (2013) "A mysterious woman seduces lonely men in the evening hours in Scotland. Events lead her to begin a process of self-discovery." Available on Amazon Prime. It's one of those movies where nothing makes sense. Long scenes where nothing happens. A person starring at a mirror. The sky. The main character played by Scarlett Johansson "The Female" (she has no name) drives around in a van picking up men with the criteria that they are alone. She brings them to a house with the lure of having sex. She disrobes as they disrobe. As she walks in a straight line, the men sink into a black watery abyss. When they are under, she walks over them and out the door. What happens to the men? Why is she luring them there? Who is she working with? WHAT IS SHE? What is the agenda? How long has this been going on? I don't want to spoil the end but I will say that none of these questions are ever answered. My takeaway: other than seeing Johansson completely nude, there are no redeeming qualities whatsoever about this film. Two stars. One for the nudity and the other for the effort.
It's about crazy cat women
resp:2 - Yep. His dad stars in the movie.
(One can see the family resemblance.)
I'm new here, I've had an account for a while, but still new to all this. And BSD. But a recent movie I've seen was Ted 2. If you don't mind crude humor than you would enjoy this movie. I liked Ted 1 and Ted 2 pretty much follows that same story. Don't think about what's going on too much, just like a family guy episode. I wouldn't buy the movie, but if you're looking for a good laugh I would recommend a rent, or getting it free on Netflix or something.
Nice website, Martino What do you think of the CISA proposal? More bad than good?
