"Pure Sap"

now it's all laid before me
in purest clarity
I see it all closing in
or closing down
or slipping and sliding right into place
and I can't or won't hate them anymore
not for what he did 
or what she let happen
I've been walking this path
wandering pseudo-aimlessly
for 21 long years
always hopeless and half blind
without goal or destination

now I see your face
and everything behind your eyes
and I can forgive the past
not because I've forgotten
but because it has lead (herded) me 
to you

i hadn't intended this to be quite this sickeningly sappy...but it says
exactly what I wanted it to, so I guess I'l have to live with it <g>

As I'm continuously telling people, not everything that's sappy is bad.
