    Having journeyed far past the ordinary
    I arrived at a vast place where their voices
    (Those of the people who dwelled there)
    Rumbled and echoed like thunder.

    They did not touch me, but their voices did.

(:  I dunno if it was your intention, but the soft "v" sounds are wonderful
to speak when you read this aloud.  The way the consonants assist each other
are really well done, too.
