Item 283: Interrupted ~Erinn~

Entered by arianna on Thu Oct 18 01:18:07 2001:

Drumming fingers on the hearth;
sparks slide, lightened, through the chimney's grasp.

Between the branches of your fingers, there are
embered stars rising through the water in your glass,
frozen fires fleeing this space with your words
clutched close, theives that have stolen them with each sip

and left us interrupted.

Can't a guy even take a water break without getting hassled?

too tired to comprehend it, but it sounds great and has a good rhythm.
It's good to be back to read stuff like this again.

thanks. (:

it's really not a difficult scene. two people, talking; one standing at
the mantle, holding a glass of water, the other sitting, watching the
sparks climb up from the fire and seeing them through the water in the
other one's cup.
