Item 106: A Few Moments (edit of an oldie) *jessi*

A Few Moments

Standing in the rain,
mist clinging, holding onto
glasses, cheeks, hands,
lips^W
       coming between.

Small drops,
slipping into spaces,
into my cold, clammy hands.

In the mist,
        a kiss,
your warmth driving away
the cold from my hands,
my face, my body.

I can^Rt.
I can^Rt let go of this
         warmth.
I can^Rt, and I feel the chill
         creeping in.

But it can^Rt last.
and as you walk
        away in the mist,
my hands flutter uselessly to my side,
and I watch until the mist
has surrounded you and
carried you away.

This is really beautiful in its simplicity and pure imagery.

what he said

you really got the feeling of loss across on this,

"my hands flutter uselessly to my side,
and I watch until the mist
has surrounded you and
carried you away."

was beautifully executed

Yeah, what Joe said. Remind me to reread this when I'm awake...
