For starting to do the same thing that wellcome did, i.e. do multiple posts
of a really big item.

#2 of 13 by polytarp on Sun Jan 25 23:28:15 2004:

No. It wasn't the same item. There were to be no duplicate items.

If you really want people to read those things, post URLs for them
instead of copying the entire text. Not only does posting items that
long fill up disk space, it makes for a long wait in Backtalk.

How's that different from any other item?

#6 of 13 by gull on Mon Jan 26 00:29:53 2004:

Most items don't contain single responses that are seveeral megabytes long.

#7 of 13 by polytarp on Mon Jan 26 00:33:24 2004:

I've never posted any item which was several megabytes long.

I agree with gull. Dumping large files is a system problem, not a free
speech problem.

#9 of 13 by polytarp on Mon Jan 26 00:39:39 2004:

No-one's dumping large files.

Well, since I'm not a techie, I'll sit back and let you argue with the system
administrators. In this case, though, I'm going to tend to believe them. It's
not like you've been really good at knowing the results of some of your
previous stunts.
