Tough shit for ryan.

I think it is fair to put the notification in the actual item itself. It would be unreasonable to expect a fw to notify users who are no longer on the system.

As much as I recognize the controversy surrounding the items deleted, which will remain (increase?) when they are restored, other than scribbling the words of the creators of the items - which they could have and should have done for themselves, instead of having the items deleted - these items should be restored *intact*. Other posters can then go and scribble their responses, just as they could for any other item. jep could have and should have done this, instead of requesting his items be deleted: He should have scribbled his own responses first. He could have then retired the item. He then could have himself personally contacted all the other posters, telling them what he had done and why, and requested them to scribble their responses too. I think that is exactly what should happen once these items are restored, given that the first step - the scribbling of the creators' comments - will have been done "for free", by staff.

That's fine with me, especially since it's part of the proposal.

Actually, under remmer's reasonable solution, I don't think ryan's fears are justified. I don't believe any of the polybots posted to jep's item. Since the proposal is to privately allow deletions before public posting, the copyable item, for them anyway, will already contain the various *voluntary* deletions.
