are you sure it's such a good idea to hold this meeting in a bar ? people might have trouble hearing each other and there could be gross misunderstandings, to the detriment of GreX...
I think the hardest thing they serve there is a triple-mocha latte.
oh. well, in that case, i hope they don't get invaded by too many UMich undergrad students asking for help on their calculus homework :(
Zing's would be a cool place to host a meeting! Perhaps they'd let you have the upstairs to hold the meeting?
We regularly met there in the past. Zing's allowed non-profit groups to reserve space in one of the upstairs rooms as long as Zingerman's didn't need it for one of their events. This worked out pretty well and we did get more drop-in attendees when the meetings were held in a centrally located public space. Alas, if we couldn't get reserved space we tended to try to hold the meeting mixed in with people coming for dinner and it got too noisy to do business. Then we started needing phone or internet access for remote board members and although Zing's does have free wi-fi, the noise became even more of an issue. So we started meeting at board member's homes where the internet and phone connections were solid and the noise levels controllable. Of course, none of the board members serve anything close to a Zing's #32 (with a big old dill pickle) although the homemade treats are quite yummy. So that's how it went down.
