Here is the treasurer's report on Cyberspace Communications, Inc. finances 
through February 29th, 2004.

Our current balance breaks down as follows:

The money is distributed like this:

$3,373.19   Savings account earning 0.55% interest annually

We had two new members (sarahlee and anderyn) and one returning member 
(womble) in February.  We are currently at 87 members, 75 of whom are 
paid through at least March 15th.  (The others expired recently and 
are in a grace period.)

Notes:

- Kip hasn't had a chance to measure Grex's electricity usage yet. 
When he does, our electricity bill will go up, and we'll have to pay 
some extra for January and February.

Must have been all the controvery that put things in the black for the
month...  ;-)

January and February have been good months for Grex over the past few years.
April through September are the really bad one.

At least 5 long-time members decided not to renew as a result of the
atmosphere over the past couple of months.  But, as you say, we finished in
the black anyway.

The city has assessed the taxable value of Grex's assets at $2200 as of
December 31st, up $800 from the previous year (primarily because we bought
NextGrex).  So our personal property taxes should be about $128 this year,
up from $81 last year.

Dunno.  Do you think it should be?  We'd need a volunteer to keep up with
it, but that wouldn't be much work.  Is there a demand for Grex items?

Kip installed a power meter in the Pumpkin over the weekend.  Preliminary
results are that NextGrex is using much less power that we previously
thought, so that's a huge relief.  I'll wait unil later in the month to get
a more definitive reading, but the current projection is that we are using
approximately 619 kWh per month, which means our electric bill will be about
$62.  Not too much bigger than before.

Of course, this is with NextGrex sitting idle most of the time.  When we
switch over to it and are spinning the disks constantly it will no doubt
consume more power than it does now.  But we'll be able to shut OldGrex off
at that point, and hopefully it will be a net gain.
