Since I got the nifty new computer, and can make my own
CDs and .MP3 disks, I thought I would gather up my Halloween
related songs. All came from my own CDs, LPs or tapes. I'm
not done yet.
Some relate very directly to Halloween. Others follow
on the theme of spooky things, witches, werewolves (and a
werecow!), alien invasion, bad luck, spells, devil women and
other stuff that would seem good in the mix.
Notice how much that could be on the radio station you
listen to is not in their playlist, even with less than a week
to go until the occasion. I think radio could be more fun if
some of these tunes where returned to the air for this month.

I can think of several you should add, but the Kinks' "Wicked Annabella" is playing on my computer right now, and thus deserves special mention..
Also, Creedence Clearwater Revival recorded a cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You" early in their career (circa 1968).
I'm listening to the Screaming Jay hawkings version on my "Oldies but Ghoulies from the Crypt" collection. The CCR version or the Crazy World of Arthur Brown version of "I Put A Spell on You" might go into the more recent rock collection. (still thinking of a good make for that collection).
The collection names are:
Haunting Melodies
Acoustica Creepatica
Oldies but Ghoulies from the Crypt
Phuntasms I
Phuntasms II
Rocktober I
Rocktober II
Can you guess what I put where?
I didn't think of The Eagles "Witchy Woman"; which I just heard this morning before. Probably because I am lacking in Eagles CDs. (Should have greatest hits, I do have greatest hits concert). Oh well, off to the vinyl stacks.
Wow, the Roxio did a good job on the shuffle. It put The Martain Boogie on after The Martain Hop.
Yes, but how many of these are any good? "Monster Mash" keeps coming to mind in my neighborhood, because I live in Silicon Valley where the newly rich tear down their old starter houses and build oversized ballooned imitation-Mediterreaneans known locally as monster houses. "They built a house - they built a monster house ..."

Hey, I like "Dead Man's Party" too.
"Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockport? sorry, I forgot.. why, why, why have you forgotten Michael Jackson's "Thriller"? I always thought that was a pop Halloween classic..
BTW, that was Rockwell performing "Somebody's Watching Me," and he's one of Berry Gordy's children.
I discovered that I only have Thriller on LP. It should get added to the Creepy Collection.
Rockwell.. thanks. I knew I didn't get that right, and was hoping someone would correct me. Yeah, I did see he's one of Berry Gordy's kids on the "Pop Up Video" version. Might explain why Michael Jackson was very willing to sing the chorus.. it's said he was very close to the famed record producer.
btw, are the theme songs to "The Twilight Zone" and "The Outer Limits" available anywhere?
I have "Twilight Zone--Twilight Tone" by the Manhattan Transfer on one of my CD's.
ON the CD "Elvira presents Haunted Hits", it has both, the pop record verions of "The Outer Limits" by The Marketts and Neil Norman's version of the "Twilight Zone" theme. It should still be available on Rhino records. (Try their web site or amazon).
