((( fall agora #12 <---> music #87 )))
Come one, come all. My set will be the backdrop for the hopefully very good Once Upon a Mattress, opening 30 days from now, Thursday the 23rd. This is *not* your last warning :)
Sept. 27 Racine , Wis - Con-Genial Short sets from 'Into The Night' mixed with club/cabaret sets. Oct 11 Traverse City - Grand Traverse Resort Bar Magic/Bizarre Magic Otter will be a 'special guest' performer doing readings in the audience.
As the bassist for BLAMMO, I will be performing at the M-Net (insert boos here if you want, but I've also offered to donate a performance to GREX) benefit at the Green Room Saturday September 27 around 11 pm. It'll be mostly obnoxious originals, with some punk classics thrown in for fun . . . .
I'm playing the cello in two chamber ensembles organized by the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts. There will be the Monday ensemble and the Thursday ensemble (catchy names, eh?). John will also be part of the Thursday group, on piano.
That's lovely, Mary. Have fun! Senna, I love that play. I'll have to see about bringing my boys to it. What theater?
Pioneer Shreiber Auditorium. Should be a doozy.
There's a slight announcement about it in today's Spotlight Magazine in the Ann Arbor News under new ticket sales. Apparently, there will be a feature sometime in the near future on it.
I will play the Green Wood Coffe House on Fri Nov 14 at 8 pm. Tix are $8, I think.
let me relate about that 'bassist from *blammo*'.... if that performance was obnoxious then i've got the wrong dictionary. nice stuff, cyklone, really good - perked up my spirits quite a bit, all of you... thankxxx
Ooops! We never got in here to mention Arabella's choir singing in
Michigan State's performance of the Brahms Requiem, last Saturday night.
But you have another opportunity to see Arabella this weekend, in
MSU's production of PIRATES OF PENZANCE, by Gilbert & Sullivan.
There are two performances: Saturday, November 1, 8 pm
Sunday, November 2, 3 pm
in Fairchild Theatre on the MSU campus.
Arabella is playing the role of "Edith" and is excited at having
her first named role.
Tickets are available from the Wharton Center box office
at 1-800-WHARTON; there should be tickets left at the door, as well.
Please come to the Green Wood Coffee House on Fri Nov 14, 8 pm to hear Katie Geddes and Friends perform traditional and contemporary folk music. Tickets $8 at the door. Food and drink available. Green Wood is located at 1001 Green Rd in Ann Arbor, near Glazier Way. See you there!
Oh, yeah, I will be performing live on AM radio station 990 on Sat Nov 8 from 8 to 10 pm. Dunno the call letters, sorry. And you missed me a few times on WCBN over the last few months, but hey.
RE #13 Katie, I believe that 990AM is WWCM, a Christian misic station located in Ypsilanti.
On the 13, 15 and 16 you can see me in "The Mouse that Roared" here in Columbus! I get to run around with purple feet! (Grexpedition perhaps? Mail me if interested...Bye!)

Not a stage appearance: however, arabella can be heard, as a part of the 150-member University Musical Society Choral Union, on a new CD by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, "Encores Live!", conduced by Neeme Jarvi. Leslie is on the Glazunov track, which was the encore for the DSO's "Alexander Nevsky" performances of a few years back. (There is one other track featuring the Choral Union, but Leslie wasn't in the group when that one was recorded.)
Hey, I was in the audience at Matt Watroba's taping for his 'Live from the Ark' CD due out thanksgiving week. show at the Ark on the 28th of Nov.
I'll be performing a cello duet, by Popper, in a recital today at Kerrytown Concert House.

No, thank heavens. ;-)
Since no one else has commented: I thought Katie's concert on Friday was very good, as usual. She had a banjo player sit in on a lot of the songs, and I thought it sounded very good. Plus, everything sounds good at Greenwood.
We don't go to a lot of concerts, and hadn't been to any of Katie's before, but we went on Friday, and enjoyed it very much. One of the guitars was a little too loud at the beginning and drowned out her voice, but after a song or two, things settled down and got into sync and the rest of the concert was wonderful. Several of the songs she sang are still running through my head. I hope she gets a recording out soon, because we're ready to buy it.
My choir, the MSU Chorale, will perform their Fall Concert on Monday evening at (I think) 7:30 P.M. in the MSU Union Ballroom. The reason I say (I think) is that it's a joint concert with the MSU State Singers, and I'm not sure what order we perform in. I'll know more after our Sunday evening dress rehearsal. The concert is free, and I have a solo in the Brahms Neue Liebeslieder waltzes.

Leslie says her choir is last in the Monday night concert.
Directions to Michigan State and the the MSU Union:

Mt. Hope Road. (At the intersection with Mt.Hope, there will
be a school on your right.) Mt. Hope is a major interesection

On Mt. Hope, pass one light, pass two lights. On the third light,

Follow Farm Lane until it ends. Turn left at the light. The road
