Perhaps 'easy listening' music is too passive for this group. Besides, you
only hear it in elevators and other Muzak systems. When I think of 'easy
listening,' I think of some studio musicians butchering some really good hits
in a saccharine manner.

Which is unfortunate, in a way. There is certainly a niche to be filled by
_music that is easy to listen to_, but the current stuff that takes that label
is too obnoxious for me. There are certain types of music, for instance, that
I prefer to listen to in the background while on the phone - Phish, for
instance, leading some who I phone often to belive that that's _all_ I listen
to - and likewise while thinking, or studying, or doing nothing, but they'd
hardly fit the bill of 'easy listening'.

I like to make a big stack of blueberry flapjacks, and go into my bedroom
closet at 3 a.m., and listen to Yanni.

Huh? Do you eat your pancakes..er..flapjacks as you go to sleep?

Nope! Yanni pumps me so full of energy (with a little help from the flapjacks)
that I'm wide awake for hours.

(Woww..you're the first person I've met who actually says 'flapjacks'. Cool)

I think I've spent way too much time in the deep south (3 years in north
central Florida). I must have picked it up down here. ;->
