I am a fan of Led Zeppelin, Jethrotull, Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Doors, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rainbow and Pink Floyd though I have not extensively listened to Floyd. I listen to Jethrotull (Have most of his albums except 2) and Led zeppelin. Scorpions are my favourite too. Led Zep - well, really captivated me with Led Zep 4 and Led Zep 3. I like tull's flute very much. Esp. Bouree which is very heavenly. Do post some interesting news if anybody may come across...26 responses total.

Assuming that our two Indian-named readers above are from India, I'd like to ask how they got exposed to so much American and British rock music. Are these bands a cult, minority taste over there, or are they played on the radio a lot? Jethro Tull: ah, that brings back memories. I was a big Tull fan between 1971 and 1976. Leader Ian Anderson has a new solo CD out, "Twelve Divinities," and I don't know any more about it than the title. (I am surprised to realize it has been 20 years since I bought a Jethro Tull album!)
RE #4 krj, do you remember Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" LP, where all the lettering except the record company logo was in Old English style.
Yup. I have most of the Tull albums up to 1977 in their original format; the best one, of course, is "Thick As A Brick" with the newspaper inside.
Tull Is great, I remember they had come to B'bay about 3 yrs ago...It was the end of the month adn as a Hostel student fincances where in Dire Straits (great Band) I stayed on one meal a day for almost a week to be able to see these guys and boy wasn't it amazing....seeing Ian Anderson play the flute on one leg at a distance of no more than 10 feet . Boy i still get goose bumbs when i think of it.
i'm another jethro tull fan, but it's been quite a while since i've actually bought any of their recordings. i have everything from "this was" through "crest of a knave" on vinyl...which also means it's been quite a while since i've *heard* any of these recordings. :)
Did anyone mention thet J Tull is playing at Pine Knob next Tuesday?
RE #9 You just did, bmoran.
drat...i'm going to miss them, then. saw them at pine knob last year, though...had a free ticket, too. :)
Who replaced the Fairport Convention guys(Dave Pegg & Martin Allcock) in Tull?
Just love Led Zeppelin and certainly Pink Floyd. Pink floyd's the Wall and Dark Side of The moon and Relics are just brilliant The lyrics by Roger Waters in The Wall is very good. Infact His solo album "Amused to death" has strains of the Wall
i like red sovine.
Hi, kapokkid, welcome to Grex and I hope you find some things to keep you here.
few people know this, but roger waters did guitar work on berlins album "count three and pray" berlin is an 80's band best known for that damn 'take my breath away ' song.
The group Berlin also recorded the songs "The Metro" and "No More Words" (around 1983-84).
duh. and masquarade from the movie 10 with olivia newton john and john travolta.
(Berlin recently did an AWESOME cover of Madonna's "Live To Tell.")
teri nunn has quite an amazing voice. you should hear her sing pink and velvet with roger waters. what an underrated singer. where did you hear the live to tell cover carson?
(it was a collection of Madonna covers by a number of artists. name doesn't ring a bell at the moment, but I'll mention it when I remember.)
please do!
Funny, I'm listening to Virgin Voice Volume Two (A Tribute to Madonna) right now.
It must be on Volume One
