Item 275: Really rare obscure song....

Entered by eeyore on Fri Aug 18 06:55:41 2000:

Okay, I've got an odd request for ya'all....Have any of you ever heard of "The
Fire Lizard Song"? I remember that the lady's name is Julie...something.
It's based on the Anne McCaffrey books, and I have a really scratchy dub of
a dub of a dub of a dub....somewhere. The song is hysterical! (I hate little
fire lizards, and my dragon hates them too. I hate the screeching and the
squaking from a fair of a zillion and two).

Anybody got any ideas?

Julia Ecklar, "I hate firelizards" -- I have that tape! (And it's a good one,
too.) Filk music. We should connect and I could play more of her stuff for
you. She's GREAT!

(meg does the happy dance) Where does one find such cd's?

You know, one of these days we should meet up...I have a feeling that we could
have *way* too much fun wandering through cd collections....:)

You find someone with good tapes, and make CDs from them.

Find Filk Music dealer Bill Roper at ConClave this October in
Lansing, Michigan. There is a lot of filk connecting to Ann McKaffee's
world.

Yes, at SF conventions -- though this is NOT on CD as yet. It is in fact, at
least if it's on the tape I *think* it is on, out of print.

However, I'm sure we could meet and enjoy rummaging through collections. I
have a *lot* of Britfolk and filk and like that there.

I just have some strange stuff. Nothing too unusual, though. I keep trying,
though. :)

I have a dub of a bad dub that my ex-boyfriend had....and at this point I'm
not even sure where that went. But I still have it mostly memorized...and
it still amuses me. :)

I found 'Firelizards' on "Walkabout" by Julia Ecklar. It's one
tape that still may be in print, as this is a collection of live tracks
put out by Bill Roper's Dodeka records.
Now, if you have ability to make me a back-up CD of it, you could
be sneaky and make one for yourself.

You know, I think it was Walkabout that I heard it on....that name sounds *SO*
familiar....
