Upon moving to Edmonton, Alberta from Ann Arbor, the music scene is one of the biggest things I was looking forward to. With a metro area approaching a million, Edmonton can support a lot more local artists than A^2 ever seemed to. As it turns out, I've found my favourite band ever, here in town! Splendourbog didn't even make a huge impression on me, the first time I saw them. They were opening for Captain Tractor, which has a much bigger reputation (and repertoire). After giving their CD a listen, and seeing them in a smaller venue, I was hooked. You can hear some of their music at http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/65/splendourbog.html Now I'm in a quandry, tho'. They seem to be going through a stressful time, where they're being pulled in multiple directions, mostly by day jobs and such. They've got a few songs that haven't even been released on CD, yet -- so apart from how awful it would be to never see them in concert again, if they split up, they'd never record those great new songs! What can a rabid fan like myself do to get other fans to let the band know how much they'd be missed? Lots of people I've introduced to their music have loved it, but the band doesn't seem to know it. Any ideas?0 responses total.
