i like hindi songs in particular that of lata mangesher

I'm not familiar with that artist, jiv.  Could you introduce (I'm assuming
his) music with us-- the style-- is it based on Western music, or is it modal?
instrumentation?  topics?  vocals (if any)?  influences-- whom has he been
influenced by, and whom does he influence?  Does Hindi music encompass one
genre, or more?  Which genre does Lata Mangesher fall into, then?

Hmm...interesting coincidence. I just read a CD review of a disk of Hindi
movie music, and was thinking I'd have to look for it when I get back to A2.
I'm not sure where I put that review now, though...

The review I read described this perticular disc as being like the music from
'blaxploitation' films, but with some Indian touches like occasional sitar.
Dunno if this is anything like the music you're talking about, jiv...
