Here's a repeat announcement from the previous incarnation of this 
item.  Leslie's opera opens Thursday in East Lansing:
 
The Michigan State University Summer Opera Program offers a double bill:
 
 Menotti: THE OLD MAID AND THE THIEF  (1 act)
 Smetana: THE BARTERED BRIDE          (2 acts)
 
 at the Michigan State University Music Building Auditorium
 Thursday June 25 - Sunday June 28:  7:30 pm each night
 
 $12 admission / $8 for students and seniors
 
 advance tickets:
 call the Center for the Arts:  517-372-4636
 
 (Leslie's role is in The Bartered Bride:  Hata, the mother of the fool.)

** heat advisory **:  The Auditorium is not air conditioned!!
Wear shorts, bring a damp towel and water.   (There, now I've just 
made sure no one will come.  :(    The temps may break for the 
weekend performances...

This Thursday through Saturday I'll be attending the Egbert Van
Alstyne Ragtime Festival in Woodstock, Illinois. This will quite
likely involve some after-hours piano playing on my part.

I'll be singing this Thursday at noon at Kerrytown as part of the
Art Fair Song Fest.  I'll be doing three Schubert songs.  Admission to
this concert is free.  Come hear me sing!  (There are other free
concerts on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, also at noon, also at
Kerrytown concert house.  In addition there are three free evening
concerts, Weds. through Friday, at the MacIntosh Theater at the UM
School of music.  Altogether, 22 singers will perform on these 
seven concerts.)

When? We're going to be at Kerrytown in the afternoon.

The concert on Thursday, at Kerrytown Concert House, starts at noon
and should last about an hour.  Leslie is scheduled to be the third
singer on the program, so don't be *too* late.

Well, I will try not to be. :-) Bruce is picking me up at noon, so I 
don't have to walk there in the heat. We are planning to eat sushi 
after/during the concert, so I hope it is near the restaurant.

Oh, great! I was in nine shows between October 1996 and May 1998--yet I 
don't discover the place until after I've packed up my Ben Nye kit?

Re #9: Indeed, it was a fine concert, and Leslie has a beautiful voice.
I thought that all six singers were excellent, in fact.
